The owner had a keen eye in Chinese craft and tradition that reflect her years of travel experience and personality. We decided to take a subtle approach towards displaying these nostalgic Chinese elements. For example, we used mahjong tiles as bar finishes, pink Chinese peony flowers contrast with galvanized steel as overall colour and mood inspiration. A quick note to one of her creative dish: at the end of the hotpot meal, the stock was cooked with rice as risotto with butter and herbs in front of the customers. It was definitely the owner’s creative interpretation of modern Chinese food and culture.
